Ångström Å
About the Ångström
The ångström equals one ten-billionth of a metre, roughly the size of an atom. It is named after the Swedish physicist Anders Jonas Ångström, who used it to map the solar spectrum. Crystallographers and chemists still use it for bond lengths and lattice spacings.
