Sievert Sv
About the Sievert
The sievert measures the biological effect of radiation, weighting the absorbed dose by radiation type and tissue sensitivity. Dimensionally it equals the gray, but the two are not interchangeable. It is named after the Swedish medical physicist Rolf Sievert and replaced the rem, which is exactly 0.01 Sv.
