Troy pound lb t
About the Troy pound
The troy pound is 12 troy ounces, exactly 373.2417216 grams, and so lighter than the avoirdupois pound of 16 smaller ounces. Britain abolished the troy pound in 1878, keeping only the troy ounce for bullion. Its 12-ounce division echoes the Roman libra.
