Bar bar
About the Bar
The bar equals 100 kilopascals, close to but slightly less than one standard atmosphere of 101,325 Pa. Its submultiple, the millibar, equal to one hectopascal, is used in meteorology. Since 1982 IUPAC has recommended 1 bar as the standard pressure for tabulating thermodynamic data.
