About the Torr
The torr is exactly 1/760 of a standard atmosphere, about 133.322 pascals. It is named after Evangelista Torricelli, who invented the mercury barometer in 1643. It differs from the millimetre of mercury by less than one part in seven million and is used in vacuum technology.
