Poise P
About the Poise
The poise is the CGS unit of dynamic viscosity, exactly 0.1 pascal-seconds. It is named after Jean Léonard Marie Poiseuille, who studied blood flow. Water at about 20 °C has a viscosity close to one centipoise, a convenient reference that keeps the centipoise in use.
