About the Royal cubit
The ancient Egyptian royal cubit was about 52.4 centimetres, divided into seven palms of four digits each. Surviving cubit rods and the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza, whose base side is close to 440 royal cubits, show it was used with remarkable consistency for centuries. The ordinary short cubit had six palms.
